Queen West holds a special place in my heart – it was an area of the city that I spent a lot of time in when I was single and looking for ways to fill my Saturdays. I would walk Queen West an visit the shops every Saturday morning, read in Trinity Bellwoods, and discover some of my favourite bakeries and restaurants. Whenever I go back, it’s very nostalgic for me.
I spent the day there with my best friend, Tenley, since we were taking a brush lettering workshop in the area. If you’re interested in checking out a brush lettering workshop for yourself, check out Alicia Spence Designs! She’s self-taught but knowledgeable and fun to work with – she was a great teacher.
We’re also really bad at taking pictures together, but we did get a few of the things that we did. If we got charcoal ice cream but didn’t take a picture of it, did it even happen? I didn’t think so! If you’re on Queen West, check out iHalo Kruch (and don’t shy away from the strange flavours – I had vanilla but the ube with the coconut/charcoal was way more delicious!)
With trendy charcoal ice cream, our favourite macaroons from Nadege, a visit to Crown Flora and BBQ at Smoque n’ Bones, we truly had the best day together.
